thrill to have it in the Times on Mother's Day. I was home with the family in
Philadelphia. I did notice that I dropped the ball in announcing the Irma Simonton
and James H. Black Award for Excellence in Picture Books. This award is voted on by
over 2,000 elementary school children from around the US and Canada.
