Hello Colleagues,

It's come to my attention that I FORGOT to announce my new Mrs.
Skorupski book published by Upstart. I remember mentioning it this
winter before it was published but it's available now.

The book grew out of a project I did at Hanson Elementary School here
in Buxton, Maine in which multi-age classes of fourth and fifth
graders sponsored a Dewey decimal system treasure hunt for second
graders. It proved to be a fabulous way to teach second graders
Dewey and to review with fourth graders. The book stars the
inimitable librarian, Mrs. Skorupski (known to so many from her
previous books, Our Librarian Won't Tell Us ANYTHING! and Fire Up
with Reading) and includes the cranky Carmen as well as her aspiring
detective little sister Freida.

I hope you'll find the book to be a great support for teaching Dewey
whether or not you recreate the entire treasure hunt.

It's available from Upstart, of course, as well as your jobbers. But
I wanted to mention that if you have a need for all three Mrs.
Skorupski titles, you can order them at a great discount using this
code: H165143. That will get you all three titles for $45.

As usual, the curriculum guide is available as a link on my website.
I'm working on a Reader's Theater script for the book as well! I'll
pop in to mention it when it's complete.

Best, Toni
