My sabbatical replacement Maura McGill is relocating from NYC to the Boston area to be near her family after this school year. She has been amazing here at Bank Street and I hope that someone out there may have a position opening up. She is a certified teacher as well as an MLS librarian with experience in art education and special ed. It would seem like she is too good to be true but she is the real deal. Hard working and enthusiastic, she has won over a very hard-to-please faculty and parent body. While here for just a short time, not only did she take over my classes but created new curriculum (a mock Printz) managed a flood damaged non-fiction collection and co-ordinated the Irma Black Awards. I have only heard wonderful things from all of our constituents- graduate students, administration and of course the children. I have observed her teaching, she is well-prepared, patient and has good classroom management skills. She is well-read and has been a valued member of the Children's Book Committee at Bank Street. She is qualified to be prek through high school and has experience as an academic reference librarian. We will miss her but some library or school will be lucky to have her. Maura can be contacted directly at mmcgill2@bankstreet.edu Thanks, Lisa Lisa Von Drasek Children's Librarian Bank Street College of Education School for Children Pre-K- 8 610 West 112th St NY NY 10025 lisav@bnkst.edu 212 875 4452 Lisa Von Drasek Children's Librarian Bank Street College of Education School for Children Pre-K- 8 610 West 112th St NY NY 10025 lisav@bnkst.edu 212 875 4452 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
