May I also vent, please? I got reamed out today by a mom who was angry that
I hadn't called her to discuss her son's slacking off in library class,
resulting in an interim progress report comment of "inconsistent effort." I
apologized to no avail, pointing out that I considered this a very mild
comment and that the problem, small as it is, was very recent.
What I wanted to say is: "I'm exhausted from doing a full-time job for
half-time pay and with dealing with kids whose report card comment since the
beginning of the year has been "interferes with the learning of others" and
gets NO parental response.
