Hi Alison, What happens to the chicks after the project? Geralyn B. Haan, Lead Librarian Maine West High School LRC 1755 South Wolf Road Des Plaines, Illinois, U.S. 60018 (847) 803-5782 FAX (847) 296-4916 >>> Alison Gray <alisong8279@YAHOO.COM> 5/18/09 12:17 PM >>> Hi, 1st graders have been doing a "Chick" unit in their classroom. Part of the project is that each classroom received eggs so they can watch them hatch. Each class will also be using the library for centers with the Chick theme. In the past they had a nonfiction center to look up facts about chicks, a computer center used for the same reason(usually Enchanted Learning), a story center, and an Arts an Crafts center. I am looking for new ideas to use at each center. Does anyone know of any good sites I could have them use on the computer? Do you also have any simple crafts they could do around this theme. They will only have 5-10 minutes at each center. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
