I sent an email about her, this would make her a more cost effective
speaker for a school.
I did enjoy her presentation, and she does have a power point that is age
appropriate for school children.

Dear Shirley,
I need to bring you up to speed. I've got some great news, and I would
appreiciate it so much if you would send it out over your Texas State
Library connection like you did after I was there.
As of Monday, I am now part of the Texas Commission on the Arts Touring
Artist Roster (through the Indigenous Cultures Institute). This means that
for schools, libraries, museums, etc. (non-profits), support may be
available to assist with my booking fees through the Cultural Connections
Performance Support grant application. This quarterly program provides
support to Texas schools, libraries, and nonprofit organizations for hiring
an artist from the TCA Touring Roster to do a performance. These
applications are funded based on a sliding scale or percentage of contracted
fees. Support is based on TCA's available funds.
I have the application contract forms. Please ask anyone interested to
please contact me for more information. The application deadline for the
fall school year is August 1. The deadline for Spring is November 1, 2009,
and February 1, 2010 for activities book from March 15 through June 14,
2010.
I am so honored and privileged to be accepted to this prestigious group. I
am listed both as a speaker and as a storyteller. I would appreciate you
spreading the word before school is out. That way, they could get their
non-profit application in before the August 1 deadline.

Kathy,
I have never attended SS convention. Some people have booths and present.
You will have a larger exposure in a booth because there are people that
only go to the exhibits. I am basing what I am saying on what I see at
TLA. At TLA you can get a booth sitter for when you are not there. Ask at
TLA if you present they will supply you projector, sound and other AV. I
would bring my own and only use their screen.
