The ship hoists the mizzen, As the wind blows to and from. Rain comes down hard as hail, The sailors run down below. The storm's winds a gale, As the rain becomes snow. Cold weather is harsh, The cold is freezing. Sailors wishing to be in Marche, Where the weather is pleasing. The snow clears and it sleets, The men rejoice. They feel the sun as it heats, They hear the captain's voice. "The storms are over, see that Italy awaits." The men see to the west. They see the gates, And finally they can rest.
