If your school/district is looking for a nonfiction author for a visit next
year, I would recommend Jane Kirkland. Author of eight Take a Walk books and
a teacher manual for creating a schoolyard field guide, No Student Left
Indoors, Jane spoke to our students today in two sessions, K-2 and Gr. 3-5.
She also gave an evening presentation for families and teachers from other
schools.
Jane's books are aligned to science standards and she is a wealth of
information for teachers and students, but very entertaining in the process.
I didn't want the day to end!
