Hello All,

I am hoping you can give me your suggestions. I am looking for a (chapter) book
that is appropriate for 3rd graders that has the theme of storytelling / elements
of writing a story. Usually the first book of the year our 3rd graders read is
Gooney Bird
Greene. They would like to change to a new book. They feel like Gooney Bird is a
bit too "young" for our group. They are passing that down to 2nd grade and would
like a book to replace that one. Something funny that will kick off the year
getting the
girls interested that will hopefully get them interested in writing their own
stories. We are an all girls school if that helps spark any ideas.

Thanks!
