These questions are geared toward Florida Media Specialists as they have
to do with Sunshine State Young Reader Awards (SSYRA) titles. However,
if you are using these titles in your library and your not in Florida,
please chime in! We are signing up to be part of the SSYRA program and
want to investigate suppliers, etc... In particular, we are interested
in acquiring books with quality binding that will last (have chatted
with other SLMS who aren't happy with some companies and the quality of
binding).

Any input you can offer on this would be welcome. Questions as follows:

1) Has anyone purchased SSYRA from Earley Learning Systems based out of
Margate FL? If so, what is the quality of the binding? Where they timely
and responsive to your needs/order? Would you recommend them?

2) What supplier would you recommend ordering SSYR books from? Why that
supplier?

3) Would you recommend ordering hardcover (i.e. spending the $$$) or
paperback (save $$$ and cover with book laminate) ?

4) We are a small, parochial school with approximately 180 students in
3rd - 8th grades. Would you recommend purchasing 1 or 2 copies of
current year titles?

5) Any other pointers on starting this program you would like to share,
please feel free to do so!

Thank you for your professional input. It is greatly appreciated.
