I did a quick search looking for something like this because I have an autistic nephew that loves to play with stacking block-type games. I was going to reply only to Mary but it occurred to me that with all of our special needs students something like this might be of interest to educators. So, does anyone out there know of educational yet fun games that could be used at school or for personal use? I am interested in unusual games that you don't see in every Toys R Us. I hope I'm not too off topic with this request. Back in October I was in Monterey CA for the Internet Libnrarian Conference. At their game night they had some non-electronic games as well as electronic. One was a big wooden circle with dividers inside. You stacked wooden shapes up against the dividers, trying to keep adding without making everything cause the wheel to roll too far and thus cause the blocks to fall. Kind of like Jenga in a circular shape. I found it online right after that night but now canno remember the name of the game. It was kind of expensive but soooo much fun and now I want to order it for Christmas.I remember it was made in Europe. Can anybody help me out with the name? Oh and I consider this only slightly off topic because everyone playing with me agreed it would make a great game to have in a library.TIA mabell -- ********************************* "Try Curiosity!"--Dorothy Parker ********************************* Dr. Mary Ann Bell Associate Professor Sam Houston State University A Member of the Texas State University System Department of Library Science lis_mah@shsu.edu drmaryannbell@gmail.com -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
