Thank you for the responses to my elementary comic book query!  Below
are the suggestions I received:


** Anything Spiderman
** Scooby Doo
** ask the students for their suggestions
** the Amulet series by Kazu Kibuishi (The Stonekeeper and The Stonekeeper's
Curse) have been very popular with my reluctant readers, and AR lists them
as a 2.0 reading level. Also, you might check out the Runaways series by
Brian Vaughan (approximately a 3rd grade ATOS, IIRC).

 Hi All,
   I am planning to start a Comic Book Club with the 4th and 5th graders at
my school.  Does anyone have any suggestions for high interest comic books
that would apply to this age group?  I'd prefer books that are on a lower
reading level, as I'd like to target ESL and reluctant readers.  Thank you!
