[LM_NET] skills to graduate high school

I am at the first stage of gathering information in order to put together
an elective course outline about the skills that high school students need
to know in order to compete in the 21st century and beyond.  
What skills are essential?  What do students need to know how to do to
prepare them for college and/or the workforce?
