Does anyone know anyone who could help translate from English to Lingala/Congo? We have a 4th grade girl who started school with us and speaks absolutely NO English. Our ESL teacher works with her daily, but progress is slow. Today the girl had a meltdown when she was not allowed to take two new library books, because the books she took on her very first visit to the library on 9/2/09 have not been returned. Her teacher said she cried throughout the day at various times, and when I went to pick up her class for the bus - she cried when she saw me! :-( We can't seem to make her understand - how could we- we don't speak her language! that the books need to be returned to the library before she can get new ones. Can anyone help? -- Leah M. Hawkins, Librarian West Hurst Elementary Hurst, TX 76053 leahleah705@gmail.com "It's no use going to school unless the library is your final destination."
