This year I've started a Mock Newbery Committee at my middle school. I've told the kids all I've been able to find out about "who these people are," as they say, and how they select the winners, but I wonder if anyone could supply more of the "behind the scenes" info. Typically, are members public or school librarians? Are they always librarians? Is it a secret who they are until after the announcement? How do they go about narrowing down the contenders? How do they decide which books to read? I'll post a HIT. Thanks in advance. -- Sandra Lingo, Librarian Delhi Middle School 5280 Foley Road Cincinnati, Ohio 45238 slingo47@fuse.net -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
