I received numerous emails asking to share the HITS that I received
about organizing a scavenger hunt to celebrate Black History Month. The
HIT below is all I have received. I will develop my idea and eventually
when I have the details I will share them with everyone. It will not be
any time soon, but... I promise I will share.

We scavenger hunt using GPS systems, the students find a location based
on longitude and latitude---however if that is not available written
clues work great--you can go online and look for ideas for Letterboxing
and that will give you many great ideas. Each one of our clues leads to
a treasure box with either an activity or information about a subject,
it can also include hints or directions to the next clue--we make the
students carry a journal to write down whatever they do, and usually put
treats in the treasure boxes . Hope this helps

Subject: TARGET

I would like to organize a scavenger hunt to celebrate Black History
Month at my school this year. - it would be all about African American
authors, books written by African Americans, etc. I have never done
anything like this. I would like input and suggestions from anyone that
might have done something similar, particularly but not limited to a
high school. All information or tips are welcome. I will share hits.
