Does anyone still type catalog cards using an old IBM typewriter? I have a card platen which has a metal strip in the roller, approximately 13" long. The catalog card fits under the edge of the metal strip making it easier to type near the top of the card. I'm sorry I don't remember the model of the IBM but I used it in the 70's, 80's and 90's before we automated. The total length of the platen is 18 9/16" including the knobs. I would love to find a home for this platen. I retired five years ago and my former job has just been eliminated. The person who replaced me asked me what on earth to do with the platen and I volunteered to put a query on LM-Net. I can send pictures and am willing to ship this if someone can use it.
