I am looking for examples of paragraphs/sections/chapters from longer books that make good read-alouds, especially for 5th & 6th graders. They don't have to have cliffhangers or even hooks, just parts of a book that can hold a students interest. Thank you so much. I'll post a hit next week if I get any responses. It is cheap, it distracts, it excites, it gives you a knowledge of the world and experience of a wide kind. It is a moral illumination."
