reaching.  The following were suggested:

The Gollywhopper Games / by Jody Feldman ; illustrations by Victoria Jamieson.  Kid 
sets a goal for himself and the book takes you through how he tries to meet that 
goal, totally lol funny and great for problem solving as well.
Two-minute drill : a comeback kids novel / Mike Lupica.

Sixteen years in sixteen seconds : the Sammy Lee story / by Paula Yoo ; ill. by Dom 
Lee.
