OK, I need some advice from this wonderful list serve. I have a school group that comes into our library every Friday. They do not have a school library so the public library in essence serves that function for them. It worked perfectly last year as each week I would do a lesson, we'd do an activity related to that lesson and then they were allowed their free time for reading, checking out books, computer time, etc.. Last year, there were 9 kids are mostly an older age group - all 2nd and 3rd graders with one very advanced first grader - so planning lessons was never an issue for me. This year there are seven kids - 3 Kindergarten, 1 first grader and 2 third graders... So my question is - what are some ideas for lessons and/or activities that the K kids & 1st grader will understand without boring the 3rd graders. It's a tricker age dynamic and I'm not sure how to make that work for those two older kids... Any advice or ideas will be most welcome!
