Hello Colleagues,

Posted this last week but didn't get any responses. Can you help?

Thanks for sharing your personal experience with
accessing standardized test data. I have a
general handle, from last year, on what the areas
of deficit are for elementary students, but I got
many fewer responses from secondary (MS and HS)
librarians, perhaps because we do less endless testing of them?

What I would like to hear, if you are a MS or HS
librarian, is where your students are scoring
low. Please give me the grade level, the content
area (reading, writing, science, social studies,
etc.) and the specific skills they are lacking in that content area.

I'll be sure to post a hit.

My last survey yielded these results:
· Grade 3: Information accessing skills
· Grade 3: Poetry
· Grades 3-5: Inference/implied meaning
· Grades 3-5: Identifying main idea
· Grade 4: Inferencing skills
· Grade 4: Figurative language skills
· Grade 4: Parts of speech
· Grade 5: Information accessing skills
· Grade 6: Ratios (mathematics)
· Grade 7: Scientific thinking
· Grade 8: Information accessing skills
· Grade 9: Reading vocabulary

Thanks,
Toni
