LM_NET Archive

For those Oklahoma School Librarians who are on LM_NET but were not aware of
the Oklahoma State University's listserv (LM_OSU), I am including the link
to the list for you to join, if you are interested. This list is not
extremely active; however, we do exchange ideas, resources, and information
relation to Oklahoma's school libraries. During this uncertain time in
Oklahoma's school libraries, this list provides us with a valuable
communication tool to send ideas, resources, and other content to
professionals throughout the state.

If you are interested in joining this listserv to learn what is happening in
Oklahoma's school libraries, share resources and information, or just "lurk
for a while," you are welcome to participate.

Upon completion of your online information, you will receive a notice by
email with a link asking you to accept your information and to be added to
the list. In addition (one of the "highlights" perhaps, of the list), any
time you send an email to the list, you will receive a notice to verify that
you want to post the email to the list. (This gives you a chance to
"re-think" your email, if you send a comment that might need a "cooling-off
period" first!) *grin* Once you click the Approval link to send the email,
it will be distributed to the rest of the members!

I hope that you can join us and please feel free to share this information
with other school librarians around the State of Oklahoma!

Have a great weekend!

"It is more than ironic that school districts are willing to spend
hundreds of thousands of dollars on reading programs and staff
development which have had limited success in boosting test scores,
but are unwilling to invest in school library programs that show direct
correlations to student success."

~ Douglas Achterman, 2008 Study of California School Libraries
