Hi Mary Jo, Melissa and others,

This blog post below, about kindles, has a link to research about the
effects of comprehension from reading online compared to reading printed
text. The research is from Julie Corio at the University of Rhode Island.
Once at Julie's site, look at the menu block on the left and it is the top
article. You can read the full text - 44 pages- once it downloads.
