I created a one-page weeding tipsheet for media specialists in SC. It's online at
http://sites.google.com/site/marthaalewine/collectiondevelopment.

I readily admit one of my weaknesses (and I'm sure there are MANY) is
weeding. I don't weed often enough.

So.... my questions to all of you wise ones:
What guidelines do you use to weed?
Is there anything or are there any reports in Alexandria that will help me
to identify what needs to go?
Do you weed the entire collection when you start or do you weed certain
sections as needed year by year and rotate that weeding through the Dewey
#'s?
Do you have any tips, suggestions or knowledge of any resources (print or
internet) that you would be willing to share?
It is really hard for me to dispose of books for some reason. Even at home
I've built book shelves on the back walls of closets because I never want to
part with an old friend?

Thanks in advance for some suggestions.
