Any thoughts on carrying phonetic readers and sight-word books in the library (e.g
Bob books, etc.)? I'm being asked to have "bins" or "special shelves" of such
readers available for teachers to send their "struggling readers" to in order to
make it possible for these students to achieve their 15 minutes of reading per
night goal. Apparently, this is a "need" that is being expressed to primary
teachers by the parents of these students. I have my own thoughts and have made my
own arguments AGAINST doing this, but want to make sure my decision is based on
sound reasoning.
