I have also found that the new kindles are a CIPA violation. They provide
unfiltered Internet access to the students using them via the browser. That
could seriously impact E-rate funding for schools!

Subject: Need articles about kindle and e-books

I was about to ask for people's experiences with e-books and Kindle,
but fortunately I went to the archives first and found a very
thorough hit on the subject. The links to newspaper articles,
unfortunately, were dead, it being more than 30 days since they were
posted. If you can point me to articles about e-books and Kindle,
particularly in relation to school libraries, that would be great.
My principal is talking about e-books, but I don't think she has much
sense of how we could use them and what the problems might be.

Many thanks!!
Johanna
