Yesterday we had a new student enroll. She is in 8th-grade, just moved here from Mexico and speaks no English. We have a history of Japanese students but have had very few Spanish-speaking students (and those we have had usually had some English). I have a small collection of Spanish-language books in my library but I need some online resources for our classroom teachers to use. So far, our counselors have been unsuccessful in even reaching the child's former school so who knows when we will receive any kind of records. So at this point, we are still trying to determine what grade level she might be working on. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
