Good Morning Great Brain,
I was presenting at a conference yesterday and was asked to list juvenile fiction
books with African American male characters. They were interested in books for K-5
and they're really looking for chapter books (not picture books).
I could come up with the Ziggy series by Sharon Draper and the McKissack books.
Someone else suggested Little Bill. And I know Jerdine Nolen writes the Max and
Jax early readers but they are crocodiles/alligators. I was stumped.
But I knew the cavalry was waiting to come to my rescue!
