Tar: Checking for Job Openings in Any State, Any Area

I shared this link last year about this time, and I thought it might be timely. Go
to teachers-teachers.com. You can specify what states or countries you would like,
and really you can hand tailor it to just about anything. You can get notices of
new job postings in your area/state sent to your email address. Your can choose to
share your information with prospective employers. If you do not want your current
employer knowing that you are looking or testing the waters of what is open, there
is an option for that as well. That website is how I found my current position. I
was just testing the waters to see what was available, and I found an excellent
school with a strong academic reputation.

Have you been to an Apple store to play with it? I suggest you go see
it. It is awesome!I have an iPhone and love it. I have a kindle and have
always loved it.
I cannot wait for the iPad with 3G! It is supposed to be released this
month.I have even purchased a new purse to hold it.
I want it very badly. The screen is so crisp. Pages in the ebooks turn
quickly and pages are marked easily. I used pages a notebook app and
really liked it too. I highly recommmend you go see it in person. We
went last Sunday to pick one up for my dad, but they are all sold out.
The photo app is incredible and easy to use.=20

Now, here is the thing. Many other companies are also coming out with a
similair device. Do you want to wait and see them first?=20

Anyone out there one of the first ones to purchase an iPad? How do you

Subject: Elem: seeking job for next school year - TX

Two weeks ago I learned that I will be losing my job in Plano ISD
(Texas) after 31 years. I retired in 2004 because of the SS loophole
and was rehired to job share with another retired librarian. PISD has
now decided to terminate those of us who work 50% jobs. This has come
as quite a shock, and I need to find a new position for next school
year. If you know of any openings in the Dallas/Plano area, I'd
appreciate hearing about them (either school or public). Thanks.

got word this week that the two of us who are second media specialists woul=

I've been reading from many of you the last couple of years how you have=

=20

First, 2010 Teen Read Week registration is now open. Visit
www.ala.org/teenread to register for our 2010 celebration. In addition
to free registration, visitors to the Teen Read Week website can find
activity ideas relating to this year's theme, planning resources,
publicity tools and applications for Teen Read Week Mini Grants. Teen
Read Week will be celebrated Oct. 17-23, with a theme of Books with Beat
@ your library, which encourages teens to read poetry, audiobooks, books
about music and more, for the fun of it. Registration benefits include
access to the 2010 theme logo, the chance to win a collection of four
books from Cinco Puntos, and a collection of 25 titles from Viz Media.
The first 300 YALSA members to register will receive a copy of Hearts at
Stake by Alyxandra Harvey.=20

=20

Second, the Teens' Top Ten nominations are live at
www.ala.org/teenstopten. See who made the list of this year's 26
nominees. Have your teens start reading them now so they can vote for
their favorites in August and September. Download the 26 official
nominees and a toolkit with reproducible and ideas for promoting the
nominees in your library. The winners will be announced during Teen Read
Week, Oct. 17-23. In addition, YALSA is accepting applications for the
2010-2012 YA Galley groups, fifteen book groups who determine the
nominees each year. Learn more and apply at www.ala.org/teenstopten.=20

=20

Finally, YALSA has also opened registration for the 2010 WrestleMania
Reading Challenge at www.ala.org/wrestlemania. The WrestleMania Reading
Challenge has been revamped as it enters its fifth year. The Challenge
now will take place over a period of one week, during Teen Read Week.
Librarians and educators: register to participate through July 31 at
www.ala.org/wrestlemania. As part of the Challenge activities, students
will pledge to read 5 books or graphic novels between Teen Read Week and
WrestleMania 27 on April 3, 2011. They may also complete a competitive
project during Teen Read Week if they want to be eligible to win a trip
to WrestleMania. The students chosen as Grand Prize Winners represent
their libraries at the WrestleMania Reading Challenge World Finals in
Atlanta on April 2, 2011 and win their libraries $2,000 grants and other
