[LM_NET] Target - GEN: Parent Involvement Night - ideas for spending some $$ to get more families in

We are having our second annual "Box of Books Night" when families may
check out a box of books for summer reading. I just learned there are
some parental involvement funds available. We had a wonderful turnout
last year, and hope to top that this year.

Outside of food, any ideas for great door prizes? Any ideas in addition
to door prizes? ...ways I could use the money to entice folks to stop by
that evening....could be talking $300-$400 total. A simple supper
(sandwiches and drinks) was one of my first ideas, but the principal and
I decided against it because of carpeting and lots of young children.

I posted this earlier today on our wonderful state listserv, but just
realized that many Arkansas media specialists are attending the AAIMS
state conference. (I stayed at school because of many weeks missed
earlier in the year for a TKR). 

Thanks in advance for all the great ideas coming this way! You guys will
help make this night more fun.
