[LM_NET] HIT-->eBook Reader Devices (Kindles/Nooks)->Checkout policies

Pursuant to School Board policy and administrative procedures, this e-mail system 
is the property of the School District of Collier County and to be used for 
official business only.  In addition, all users are cautioned that messages sent 
through this system are subject to the Public Records Law of the State of Florida 
and also to review by the school system.  There should be no expectation of privacy.

A hit was requested, but there were no responses offering checkout policies.

Below find (1) a response from a public library based on a personal query directly 
to that library and (2) the policy we developed.

KINDLE CIRCULATION POLICY

14 Day Loan
Local Request Only
1 renewal
$1 Fine per day

Must be returned to "Library Branch Name"
Return to Circulation Staff for proper check-in
Cannot be returned to other libraries
No outside returns

Charge Kindle before returning
Please do not add to or delete books from the Kindle


REPLACEMENT COSTS:
Lost or damaged Kindle - $299
Leather case - $29.99
Adapter - $14.99

eBook Reader (Nook) Check-Out Policy

am borrowing an eBook reader (Nook) for 1 week from the NHS LMC.

I will keep the Nook in its current condition and re-charge the battery before 
returning it. The Nook and components will be returned in the same condition, or I 
will be responsible for replacing these items. Treat it as your own and keep it in 
a safe place at all times. If I fail to comply with the above regulations, I am 
aware that my Nook borrowing privileges will be revoked. I will also be held 
responsible for compensating the Library Media Center in the case of lost or 
damaged components.

This Nook will not be used for downloading or deleting titles.

By signing below, I certify that I have read and understand the above statements 
and I agree to abide by them for the duration of my Nook possession. Present the 
Nook to a member of the LMC staff on return (Do NOT put it in the book return).
