TRAILS (Tool for Real-time Assessment of Information Literacy Skills) The TRAILS project seeks school librarians working with 6th or 9th grade students to assist in testing updated items for the TRAILS-6 and/or TRAILS-9 assessments. Each field test will contain items from ONE specific TRAILS information literacy category only. These will NOT be general assessments. This spring TRAILS consultants were tasked with revising the current active items being used for the sixth and ninth grade assessments to address issues with content and eliminate the last of the multiple response items. We are now ready to have students respond to the items to verify their soundness. Requirements to be a testing site: 1. Testing population: 6th or 9th grade students 2. Technology: computers with Internet access 3. Time needed to administer: estimate of 20-30 minutes/session 4. Testing time period: now through May 2010 If you are interested, please fill out the TRAILS 6 and 9 Pilot Volunteer Interest Form at http://skylight.wsu.edu/s/35f195f7-db37-418d-b953-a4c3694e4cdc.srv by Monday, April 26. School librarians selected for participation will be notified and be provided specific directions for administering an assessment. Please direct any questions to Barbara Schloman, TRAILS Project Director, bschloma@kent.edu<mailto:bschloma@kent.edu>. Thanks for any consideration you can give to being part of this revision project to improve TRAILS-6 and TRAILS-9. Your ongoing support means a great deal.
