I still have AACR from 1968 and Winchell's guide to reference books. I don't refer to them often, but I have used them many times since the courses were completed. The books used for children's literature courses may still be relevant. I recently acquired a book from 1975 with essays on what the library of the year 2000 would be like. I used the book in preparation for a talk I gave two weeks ago. There are scholarly and historical reasons to keep the books from your college days.
