[LM_NET] Grace Lin author visit

We had a great author visit on April 9th when Grace Lin visited our K-5
school.

She spoke first at our breakfast for students and families. She then
presented to K-1; 2-3; 4-5. She talked about being an author and her life,
the process her books had to go through in order to be published, she read a
little from her books The Year of the Dog and The Year of the Rat and
answered questions. She also led them in drawing a tiger head for the year
of the tiger while she spoke about Chinese culture.

She was extremely gracious and approachable. Her visit created so much
excitement for her books and was a great kick-off for our entire school to
be reading The Year of the Rat. The students are really reading and
discussing her book. Two veteran teachers told me afterward that it was one
of the best days of their teaching careers.
