Position Vacancy - Educational Technology Coordinator 

PERMANENT FULL TIME REPLACEMENT


Qualifications 

-Master's Degree in Educational Technology preferred
-At least 3 years experience working in schools 
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
-A strong ability to collaborate and build relationships


Responsibilities

The Technology Coordinator reports to the Dean of Children’s Programs
and is responsible for all issues relating to technology at the School
for Children. The responsibilities include, but are not necessarily
limited to the following areas: 

-Establishing an environment that encourages creative and independent
use of instructional technology throughout the school.
-Assisting educators in planning for the use and integration of
technology in the instructional program.
-Participating in the design, coordination, and execution of
instructional technology workshops, and researching and/or providing
individual training opportunities for teachers to ensure the best use of
technology. 
-Seeking out and regularly informing teachers of appropriate technology
related professional development opportunities.
-Seeking out and working with teachers to develop technology related
lessons and curriculum.
-Serving as a mentor to teachers and staff for technology use.
-Developing benchmarks for student technology proficiency.
-Assessing, documenting and reporting on all aspects of technology
related to educational goals of the school.
-Providing curriculum assistance regarding hardware usage, software
applications, computer technology, and the general instructional use of
technology in the classroom. 
-Encouraging and supporting teacher and student experimentation with
current and emerging services and technology.
-Continually seeking to disseminate and implement new technologies and
methods for teaching and learning.
-Making use of current research in technology to guide decisions.
-Making and supporting technology-related purchasing recommendations
during the budget cycle based on teacher needs and assist teachers with
their technology related budget requests.
-Modeling effective uses of appropriate instructional technology in the
classroom.
-Working with the College's CIS department, to develop, update, and
maintain the school's inventory of hardware and software. 
-Coordinating and collaborating with the College’s CIS Department on
technology related projects.
-Coordinating and/or leading parent education opportunities.
-Performing other duties as assigned by the Dean of Children’s
Programs. 


Start Date:                     September 1, 2010 

Salary:                         Commensurate with experience
