Dear 'NETters and any publishers' reps out there - I know that Advance Reader Copies (ARCs) say "Uncorrected Proof " but does that mean that someone in the publishing house is fixing each typo, misspelled word, doubled punctuation mark, etc right now? Or do the publishers want ARC readers to e-mail them the oops places? Since current-day books seem to have just as many uh-ohs in the finished, on-the-shelf product as the older books that I read (from pre-computer days), I wonder whether any correcting gets done between ARC/galley and sold book! Please reply off-list, and I will post a HIT. thanks, Katy Manck Librarian-at-Large Gilmer, Texas, and Davenport, Florida, USA IASL: The GiggleIT Project for children's writing http://www.iasl-online.org/sla/giggleIT/register.htm -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
