Several members asked for a hit. I did not receive many replies. I waited to post
until I received a remote I ordered so I could include info about it.

Original message:
Group,
I have two LCD projectors with lost remotes. Since they are ceiling mounted, it is
quite difficult to use a meter stick to turn them on and off. I am searching to
find replacement remotes, but was wondering if universal TV remotes will work. Has
anyone ever tried this? Or do you have a source for replacement remotes that are
reasonably priced? Thanks in advance for your help.

Please post a hit; my principal and I were just discussing this a few minutes ago!

I've yet to get the remote to work on my ceiling-mounted library lcd projector, so
I have a long dowel rod to turn it off or on. If I ever need to adjust anything
else, I'm in trouble because the projector is a good 11' off the ground. Please
post a hit if others have had success with their remotes.

Let me know what you find because we are in the same predicament!

yes...you can get replacement remotes online (Amazon) 20-30 dollars. I had to do
this already for one of my teachers.

I tried two universal TV remotes with fresh batteries and went through ALL the
codes and it did not control my LCD projector.

I did not find any remote on Amazon for my Panasonic LCD projector. However, I did
find a site at this link that listed a replacement remote for my specific model.
My remote was sent from NRI from Tampa, Fla.

It was not cheap. Cost me $44.90 (which included shipping). I received it
today...inserted new batteries....and it worked perfectly. It does not look
exactly like the lost remote, but has buttons for Power, Input Select, Auto Setup,
Shutter, Menu, Zoom, Pointer, and a few others.

Hope this info helps others.

Linda
