The story you asked for, "The Survivor" by Walter Moudy if in the book
*Battlefields
beyond Tomorrow: Science Fiction War Stories*, edited by Waugh and
Silverberg and published by Bonanza Books, 1987. There are used hardback
copies available for a reasonable price through alibris.com.
