I'm presenting a keynote address in a few days at a library-technology conference and wanted to share with the participants some of the WOW-Factor projects that are happening in various types of libraries across the nation. I was hoping that some of you may know of some: * public libraries * school libraries * academic libraries that are utilizing technology (either "over-the-counter" software or 2.0 tools) that could be shared with these librarians? For example, does your public library utilize an online reference chat system to help patrons online? What is happening in the academic libraries that might seem "unusual?" Show me your BEST stuff in the school libraries (I'm SO proud of you guys...you're SO creative when it comes to showcasing your resources. But what are you doing now (or planning for the fall?) If you wouldn't mind sending me a link to a library (any type) that is incorporating what you might think is a WOW-Factor experience for its patrons, I'd like to use those ideas to present (and inspire, motivate, and encourage) some of the participants to think outside the box during the technology conference (as they learn new applications and search for unique ideas!) I will be posting my presentation (PowerPoint...ho, hum...) to the CML's website later, if you're interested in seeing what's available and how it could be used in your own library. The CML's website is: http://www.library.okstate.edu/cml/contact.htm (under CONTACT--- my name will be hyperlinked and the presentation will be on a new page. Sorry, I'm still updating the new template for our website!) Please check back by mid-August for updates. Thanks for sharing! I'm looking forward to seeing your WOW-Factors! ~Shonda -- Shonda Brisco Assistant Professor / Curriculum Materials Librarian Mary L.
