More information: I actually resigned when i found out that my contract was not
going to be renewed. That way it went before the board as a resignation to help
save face and help get another job. This was my first year as a librarian and my
principal did not allow me to do my job and the opportunities to use technology
in the library were almost nonexistent at my school so basically, I have no
portfolio to show and no positive initiatives or experiences to share with the
committee. Knowing that, what advice can you give me?

Subject: Advice for interviews - urgent!

I am getting more than a bit frustrated and I hope that
Hi everyone -

I am getting more than a bit frustrated and I hope that you can offer some
advice. My first position as an elementary librarian did not work out. In a
nutshell, I was fighting a losing battle from the day I set foot in the
building. The administration set me up for failure from the get go and things
went from bad to worse. I knew back in March that my contract was not going to
be renewed and I have been looking ever since for a new position. I have driven
all over Texas to interview after interview (I've actually lost count how many)
and still have yet to receive any offers. I honestly don't know why, the
interviews are going very well, and I am very careful not to talk negatively
about my former employer or seem desperate to get a job during the interview. I
have no trouble getting the interviews but I just can't understand why it's
taking so long. I have one more interview this afternoon and I am getting pretty

desperate as a I am running out of time and options.

Any insights/advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
