I have learned that after two years of lpbbying the Powers that Be, I have learned that after two years of lpbbying the Powers that Be,, I will have a FLEX day added to my fixed K-5 teaching schedule this upcoming school year. This will have give me the opportunity to work with the middle school teachers and students, at least one day a week. I have been in e-mail contact with our wonderful 8th grade civics teacher we are going to add some infromation literacy lessons to her essential question research project. We have been discussing ways to improve the experience for the 8th grade students, so in addition to a data base search lesson I would like to add a lesson on Primary vs. Secondary sources. In the Spring Joyce Valenza posted a wonderful, student video on understanding primary sources, did anyone save the link? I have done some preliminary searching and cannot locate the video. Any suggestions, tips on this topic would be welcome Thank you! Monica M.
