This year, I finally convinced the powers that be to provide the hs library with a new computer to replace the slower-than-molasses one the students and I had to share. I was ecstatic, until I tried to print a document from Word. The document, even if it appears to take a full page on the screen, prints compressed (the font looks squashed) and on only about a third to a half of the page. (If the document included a picture, it would print normally.) I finally cornered our tech person this summer, and he made some adjustments to the settings, which solved the problem while he was in the library. Unfortunately, the next time I tried to print something, it was even worse--the print and also pictures were compressed. I asked the tech guy, and he said something about adjusting the settings again. I hope he doesn't mean this has to be done every time someone prints something! (I'm not even sure what he did.) We have the same version of Word on our new computer at home, and don't have this problem. Can any of you geniuses help me? TIA.
