Hi Everyone, Care to help out a potential future Librarian?

My cousin emailed me tonight, she's a senior English Major in Philly trying to
decide what she wants to do next, and Librarianship is on the list of things she is
thinking about. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the school and
program she is talking about that I can share with her. I did my grad work in
Albany and I don't know anyone who went to Simmons. Any thoughts you think I should
share with her? I am sort of wishing I knew about this program myself since I Love
Boston LOL She remind me of myself so much, thought 6 or so years younger, I
remember being the English Major thinking WHAT DO I I NEXT, AHHHHHH!!! And I ended
up in a job I love, k-5 Librarian, so any advice you cab give about the program, or
to a confused English major in general I will pass on to her.

 Hi Melissa,
I found a grad program that seems really interesting...
http://www.simmons.edu/gradstudies/programs/dual/childreslit-libraryscience.php
It's this school in Boston, which, normally I wouldn't really want to go that far
from home or anything. But it offers these intriguing "dual degree" programs. The
one I've been looking at covers an M.A. in Children's Lit. and M.S. in Library
Science. The courses look cool, ranging from fairy tales to YA. And I feel like it
might be a good fit for someone (like me) who'd like a lot of options...including
library science, OR, say, publishing in that genre.
I'm wondering--if you can find the time to just check it out--what you think.
According to ALA, Simmons is accredited. It intrigues me...

I still don't really know what I want to do, but I know I love reading stuff like
this, including fairy tales (5-Minute Fairy Tales is on my bookshelf as I write :])
Anyway, if you find the time. Just wondering...
Talk to you later, Tara
