Hello,

I have a teacher here who just had his students read the short story "The Ruum" by
Porges, Arthur. They are confused about the meaning of "ruum" I looked it up and
it seems as if the ruum is a shape shifting robot, however they are still confused.
I also found out that "ruum" in Estonian means space. Does anybody know of this
story and why Porges chose to use that particular word? Is it also an acronym for
something? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
