LM_NET Archive

This is some information for everyone out there in LM_NET land : )

creativecommons.org or wikimediacommons are the two I favor when
finding images to use in presentations. You MUST attribute who the
imageholder is and pay attention to the imageholder's permissions, but
these sites are basically there for you to use images, music et al.
I also did a search using google images, and if you do that, make sure
you go to the advanced image search and change the search from "not
filtered by license" to "labeled for reuse" or "labeled for reuse with
modification"

Please do NOT think that royalty-free means copyright free! Just an
FYI to everyone out there - royalty free usually means that you pay a
fee for images and then can use what you paid for multiple times in any
type of presentation and don't have to attribute.
Case in point, I paid for and use digitaljuice.com's royalty free
music and overlays in my trailers. In this case though, I can use these
pieces over and over again.

So, if you're looking at shutterstock, sxc.hu, or other royalty-free
places, keep in mind there is an initial charge for images.....

My History Day students are having a hard time finding copyright-free
images for their presentations. What websites do you recommend?
