[LM_NET] GEN: A Little Good News

With all the news about budget cuts and underappreciated school 
librarians, this story is nice to see.  A group of parents--beginning 
with one couple working with the school librarian--rallied support for 
the elementary school library and painted a huge mural of book characters:

Two phrases stood out to me:

"...to help Nora Gutierrez, the school librarian. She works at five 
school libraries, three hours per library each week."  [YIKES!]

"...the group decided it must first get the community to invest time and 
effort into the library."  [YES!]

Can we bottle some of that enthusiasm and support?  More importantly, 
can we get some more press for the many good things happening in our 
school libraries?  We can certainly make the latter happen!
