Our elementary schools have many books by the author Lynne Reid Banks. Some of the books are cataloged with BAN and some as REI as the author's name. I would assume that Banks is her last name and Reid is some type of middle name. (As in James Fenimore Cooper) However, a cataloger somewhere along the line must have determined that Reid was part of her last name. Her official web site does not indicate which it is. So does she go by Reid Banks or Banks? Can anyone tell me which is the correct form?
