Do you know of any good secondary books on mathematics or symbolic logic topics to
help this teacher?

I am trying to acquire some non-fiction books containing information [preferably in
short chapter format] on topics related to math and science for use in literacy
circles next year. Right now, I have several books/authors for science: Bill
Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything, Lewis Thomas's The Lives of a Cell,
Carl Sagan, Stephen Hawking, etc.

However, I am not aware of, nor finding, good books on math, or the names of any
writers on the topic of math who are readable. I would be happy to use book(s) on
symbolic logic as well, or even good math puzzles [you know the kind that require
you to build a table to solve them].

If you are aware of any such books, or know someone who might have ideas for me,
please let me know so that I can follow your "leads."

Thank you so much,
