Thank you everyone for the responses, and hope everyone is adjusting to the return to work! Here is the original request and some responses: Our history teacher asked me to order a video or DVD that contains some sort of dramatic reenactment of the French Revolution. She would be willing to use an online video as well. Anyone have something to recommend? ****************************************** I am the Academic Decathlon coach on my campus and this year's topic is the French Revolution. I saw a special on the History Channel just the other day that was fantastic. It's long (2 hrs) but it covers everything in just enough detail to keep it interesting. I'm going to order it on Monday when we get back to school. Here's a link to the site: http://history.resultspage.com/search?w=french+revolution&x=19&y=17 ********************************** Many teachers at my school use the video 'Marie Antionette' to show students the extravagent lifestyle of the 1st estate in France at this time. Some teachers only use snippets of the movie. I have directed many teachers to the free video site "how stuff works" video where they can find over 50 videos (ranging in length) on the topic. See link below: http://videos.howstuffworks.com/search.php?terms=french+revolution&media=video There are a great deal of worth while online videos at this site. ******************* I watched a wonderful documentary (which was mostly re-enactment) on The French Revolution the other day on the History Channel. http://shop.history.com/detail.php?p=68316&v=All They only had one questionable part...they flashed a black and white cartoon showing Mary Antoinette in a sexual position. It was an actual cartoon from that time period, and the creators of the documentary stated that there were several of these scandalous cartoons depicting her at the time. *************************** Its been a few years but I saw this show on the French Revolution when it first aired it was quite good http://shop.history.com/detail.php?a=71849 ****************************** how about anything from the movie, Les Miserables? *************************** -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
