The PALM Center, a research center devoted to issues related to the leadership and technology integration, is still soliciting applications for 4 one-year Ph.D. fellowships for 2010-2011. Fellows will assist in conducting research related to effective technology integration in schools and be prepared as future university faculty to develop a research agenda in this area. School media specialists who are National Board Certified are especially encouraged to apply. The Fellowships include: • A 20 hour per week position as a Research Fellow for the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) funded project, “Leadership-In- Action: School Library Media Specialists For The 21st Century Leaders Educated To Make A Difference.” • A stipend of $18,000 for the year.• Tuition for 27 credits.• Participation in a community of scholars at the FSU PALM (Partnerships Advancing Library Media) Center, the School of Library and Information Studies, the College of Communication and Information, and the FSU campus.• Opportunities supporting scholarly presentations at conferences.• The ability for working professionals to firmly establish their doctoral program during a one-year residency and finish from a distance. The deadline for applications is February 1. The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is required. In addition to the University application, please send an essay describing your interest and qualifications in the study of effective technology integration by school library media specialists to Dr. Nancy Everhart (everhart@fsu.edu) and Dr. Marcia Mardis (mmardis@fsu.edu) by February 1, 2010. The Florida State University School of Library and Information Studies is ranked number three in the nation in School Library Media.
